23 March 07 - 17:22Burnley Tunnel crash

When tragedies like this occur, words fail. It's just awful.

16 March 07 - 13:40Windows SFU

Windows SFU (Services for Unix) should be renamed to Windows So F#cking Useless. I've just encountered a problem where trying to stop the SFU Server for NFS causes a windows 2003 server box to BSOD (blue screen of death for the non-geeks out there) and reset itself. Nice.
We can't uninstall SFU either - it also BSODs halfway through the uninstall. I really doubt it's a hardware issue, as otherwise the box is fine. Oh well... time to do some more digging into what's really going on.

06 March 07 - 23:59C is for Cookie and George Takei on Tim Hardaway

I've been either too busy or too slack to post much lately, but of course, I've still been wasting time on the net.

The video clip of Therion's totally awesome cover of ABBA's Summernight City.

This totally awful Bollywood cover of Michael Jackson's Thriller

04 March 07 - 14:51Robotech carry on

I was a huge fan of Robotech when I was a kid and I used to watch it obsessively with my brothers (getting up at 6:00am to watch all the kids cartoons was the only time in my life that I was happy to be a morning person). I hated Minmei, adored Lisa, and wanted to be Miriya, and I even went through a stage where every computer at home got named Daedalus after the Daedalus Maneuver.
However, it's only just now, over 20 years later, that I've realised how dodgy some of the characters' names are, after looking the show up on IMDB. C'mon, Rick Hunter and Roy Fokker? - someone on the writing staff must have been having a laugh. They should gave gone all the way and renamed Max Sterling to Michael Hunt. And how camp was Khyron?
